You can enjoy an easy ride along Lake Ontario through the old fashioned main streets of delightful heritage towns. In Port Hope enjoy theater and music at the atmospheric Capitol Theater; visit the Canadian Firefighters Museum or shop for antiques and collectibles on the unique mid-19th century main street. Cobourg, with its' beach and boardwalk on Lake Ontario offers theater at the 1860 Victoria Hall. Continue on the Waterfront Trail to visit the landmark "Big Apple" in Colborne with it's charming town square and Presqu'ile Provincial Park near Brighton with it's beaches and natural areas. It is 14 kilometers from Port Hope to Cobourg, a further 25 to Colborne and an additional 15 to Brighton

Bike through picture perfect rolling farmland with wooded hills to naturally beautiful Rice Lake, the Alderville First Nation community and charming countryside towns; returning on the scenic Shelter Valley Road. Try the 150 kilometer challenging loop route from Cobourg through Port Hope to Rice Lake and Warkworth returning on Shelter Valley Road.

A package route guide is available for a 5 day “Lake Ontario and Trent Canal" ride with a 60 or 100 kilometer average distance per day including turn-by-turn directions, accommodation suggestions and attractions. Starting at Picton, you bike through Cobourg or Port Hope north to Rice Lake and the Trent Canal. The 50 kilometer per day ride crosses the Bay of Quinte at Belleville. The 100 kilometer per day ride includes Kingston and the Glenora Ferry. Luggage transfer and accommodation reservations are available.
