This wonderful area is close to the largest
urban areas in Ontario and still very scenic and near the
shore of Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence River.
You can bicycle all the way from Niagara to the border of the
Province of Quebec east of Cornwall.
Starting from picturesgue and historic Niagara
on the Lake, follow the waterfront paths through Hamilton and Burlington to
Toronto's Harbourfront and attractive beachfront,
residential neighbourhoods. Bicycle on quiet lakefront roads, through farmland and
small historic towns including charming Port Hope and Cobourg;
Bloomfield, Picton and the Glenora Ferry crossing. Enjoy the bike
paths of the Loyalist Parkway and Thousand Islands Parkway, Kingston
"the Limestone City", Fort Henry and historic Brockville and
Prescott. This is wonderful ride with all of the tourist services
that you could desire. Easy,
flat to slightly rolling.
The "Waterfront Trail & Greenway
Mapbook" is also available for purchase. It provides a
detailed mapped route from Niagara on the Lake through Toronto to
the Quebec border, which is particulalrly useful in the area
from Hamilton to Newcastle. We include a route for the missing sections in the
Waterfront Trail Mapbook at no additional charge.
The Waterfront Trail is a great starting point for multiday bike ride
loops going west or east on the Waterfront Trail and then north to Rice
Lake, Campbellford, Perth and all the way to Ottawa.
A package route guide is available for a 5 day “Lake Ontario and Trent Canal"
ride with a 50 or 100 kilometer average distance per day including turn by turn
directions, accommodation suggestions, restaurants, and attractions.
Starting at Picton, you bike through Cobourg or Port Hope north to Rice Lake
and the Trent Canal. The 50 kilometer per day ride crosses the Bay of Quinte
at Belleville. The 100 kilometer per day ride includes Kingston and the
Glenora Ferry. Check our our

A package route guide is available for a 5 day “St. Lawrence and
Rideau Canal Ride” with a 60 kilometer average distance per day
including turn-by-turn directions, accommodation suggestions,
restaurants and attractions. Starting at Gananoque, you bike east along the Thousand
Islands Parkway and then north to the Rideau Canal visiting several
canal lock towns. Luggage transfer and accommodation reservations
