Are you looking for a multi-day loop route that would permit you to bicycle for several days, returning to your starting point? Use the east-west routes that go across Southern Ontario - the Waterfront Route, Central Ontario Route and Backroads Route - along with north-south connecting routes to create the ride that suits you. For example, you could start out on the Waterfront Route bicycling east or west, then take one of the many north-south connecting routes until you reach either the Central Ontario Route or the Backroads Route. Then head back toward where you started from and and take another convenient north-south connecting route to get back to the Waterfront Route and your starting point. There are many possibilities. Waterfront Route
Across Southern Ontario following the shore of Lake Erie. Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence River (Waterfront Trail)
1011 km. All paved. Back roads Windsor to Hamilton. Waterfront Trail Hamilton to Quebec border.

Between Windsor (Detroit MI) - Leamington/Kingsville (Pelee Island Ferry, Sandusky OH) - Port Dover - Ohsweken – Hamilton – Toronto - Picton - Kingston (Wolfe Island Ferries, Cape Vincent NY) - Cornwall (Massena NY) - Quebec border (Quebec's Route Verte to Montreal)

Includes parts of the following Touring Areas: South Shore, Ports of Lake Erie, Waterfront Trail, Northumberland, Quinte Prince Edward, St. Lawrence.
This is a scenic waterfront route all the way across Ontario from Windsor to the Quebec border east of Cornwall. The route goes close to Lake Erie, Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence River using the Lake Ontario Waterfront Trail




Backroads Route
Across Southern Ontario generally through the area where Highway 7 is located.
1021 km. from Windsor - 917 km. from Sarnia. All paved back roads.

Between Windsor (Detroit MI) - Stratford - St. Jacobs - Orangeville - Bradford - Campbellford - Tweed - Perth - Ottawa - Quebec border (Quebec's Rotue Verte)

Includes parts of the following Touring Areas: South Shore, Thames Avon. Grand River, St. Lawrence.
Start from the Bluewater International Bridge in Sarnia or Riverside Drive in Windsor and bicycle this back road route through scenic countryside and the lakelands of Southern Ontario. Route includes the Thames River valley, Stratford - home of the famous Stratford Festival, Ontario's Mennonite country, Ontario's last remaining covered bridge, the Trent Canal, many small lakes and quiet countryside to no end. The topography is moderate; quite flat for the first 200 kilometers, rolling through the central 200 kilometers and flat again for the final 200 kilometers from Perth to the Quebec border.

Central Ontario Route
Across Southern Ontario generally through the area where Highways 401, 402 and 403 are located.
936 kilometers from Windsor. 832 kilometers from Sarnia. All paved. Back roads to Hamilton and Waterfront Trail from Hamilton the the Quebec border.

Between Windsor (Detroit MI) or Sarnia (Port Huron MI) - London - Ohsweken – Hamilton – Toronto - Picton - Kingston (Wolfe Island Ferries, Cape Vincent NY) - Cornwall (Massena NY) - Quebec border (Quebec's Route Verte to Montreal)

Includes parts of the following Touring Areas: South Shore, Grand River, Waterfront Trail, Northumberland, Quinte Prince Edward, St. Lawrence.
This is a countryside route from Sarnia or Windsor thatr goes quite directly east toward Hamilton including the Thames River valley, scenic farmland, the Native Canadian Six Nations Territory and historic Ancaster. From Hamilton to the east the route uses the Lake Ontario Waterfront Trail, close to Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence.

Trans-Canada Route
Across Ontario from the Mannitoba border to the Quebec border through Southern Ontario.
2423 km. from Manitoba border. 1243 km. from Sault Ste. Marie. All paved. Main roads from Manitoba to Manitoulin Island. Back roads from Manitoulin Island to Quebec border.

Between Manitoba border - Kenora - Fort Frances (International Falls MN) - Thunder Bay (Grand Portage MN) - Sault Ste. Marie (Sault Ste. Marie MI) - Manitoulin Island (ferry) - Owen Sound - Collingwood - Bradford - Campbellford - Tweed - Perth - Ottawa - Quebec border (Quebec's Route Verte)

Includes parts of the following Touring Areas: Georgian Shore, St. Lawrence.
Bicycle across Ontario from Manitoba, Quebec and the United States border crossings to Minnesota and Michigan; cronnecting with Quebec's Route Verte and American Cycling Association Routes. Explore the northern edge of Southern Ontario.




Huron Trail Route
Near the shore of the Detroit River, St. Clair River, Lake St. Clair and Lake Huron.
1557 km. All paved except for 6 km. south of Grand Bend

Between Windsor (Detroit MI) or Sarnia (Port Huron MI) - Goderich - Kincardine - Port Elgin - Wiarton - Owen Sound - Tobermory (Manitoulin Island ferry)

Includes parts of the following Touring Areas: Huron Shore, Georgian Shore.
Enjoy this waterfront route between Windsor or Sarnia and Tobermory. Watch the ships on the Detroit River and St. Clair River as you bicycle along. Visit the scenic and historic port towns and lighthouses. Experience Ontario's best sand beaches on Lake Huron.
